People fascinate me. All the colours of the rainbow,
from the grey suited executive, to the Whitby Goth and all the shades in
between. A lot of my work features my daughter caught napping or tying
up her hair, simple but sensual acts that beg to be painted. Recently
though I have homed in on the Goths, who descend on Whitby twice a year
and colour the place with their individuality. I am starting a series of
Morris dancers soon, individuals, who are considered eccentric by some
of us, but put life and colour into our landscape, and keep old
traditions alive. They deserve to be recorded. |
